This was not just another FC Barcelona Regal blowout victory in the Liga Endesa. What many had expected to come sooner or later has finally occurred – according to ACB.com.

Mario Hezonja has turned into “Super Mario”.

The 19-year-old Croatian star prospect has had solid contributions for Barcelona during the season, topped off by his eight-point, 11-rebound showing against La Bruixa d’Or on October 27. Hezonja added a seven-point, two-rebound, four-assist and two-block performance against BdR Valladolid on December 15. And he collected nine points, three rebounds and six assists against Valladolid on March 8.

But then came the second game against La Bruixa d’Or on March 16.

ACB.com billed their highlights of the 91-63 blowout as “El día en que Hezonja se transform en Super Mario” (“The day in which Hezonja transformed himself into Super Mario”).

Hezonja lit up Bruixa for 26 points on 9-of-12 shooting – including 4-of-6 three-pointers – while also collecting five rebounds. The highlight reel included an amazing baseline reverse layup, which conjured up an image of “His Airness”, some excellent outside shooting (albeit some finely-created open shots) and a nice reverse alley-oop dunk from what seems to be his alley-oop partner Jacob Pullen. Hezonja showed off the full arsenal with some powerful drives to the rack and some good step-back jumpers as well.

Here are some of the highlights of the Bruixa game.
