France U18 center Mouhammadou Jaiteh admits that he is considering playing college basketball after finishing his time at the INSEP institute.

Jaiteh starred for France at the 2012 Albert Schweitzer Tournament in Mannheim, Germany and will be one of the leaders at the up-coming U18 European Championship this summer – despite not turning 18 until November 27.

And the Pantin native is currently playing at the Centre Federal de Basket-Ball (INSEP) institute in the French third division.

When asked what his plans are after his finishes his time with INSEP, Jaiteh told heinnews: “For this time I don’t know. But I think I can maybe go into the second division in France or first division or the United States. Maybe I want to go to college. I am open for everything.”

As a 16-year-old, Jaiteh last summer led the U18 French team in scoring, rebounding and blocked shots.

The 6-foot-9 big man said he is working on his leadership and outside shot.

“I have to be an example for the new players (with the France national team). But I feel really good that I can be a leader,” said Jaiteh.

“Close to the basket I am a good player and I can help the team. But I need work on my outside shot.”
